Principals Message
We are blessed to have a wonderful school community here at St Finbarr’s. Our school spirit is always so evident when we are able to come together and thankfully, this year, we have been able to do that again. It was so special to see our whole school community back this year to celebrate our Mother’s Day and Fathers Day breakfasts, Vocabulary Parade during Book Week, our Feast Day ‘Minute to Win It’ challenge, our amazing school concert, the Art exhibition, the Halloween disco, $20 Boss Challenge and of course the numerous sporting and musical events throughout the year. We have had many opportunities in the past weeks to thank and acknowledge our wonderful students.
I would like to thank our teachers who form and guide the students for five days a week. Planning lessons to engage and challenge each student while steering and supporting them through friendship issues, family dilemmas, the complex online world, the anxieties of heading to High School while using every experience as a life lesson to help the students grow as decent, informed citizens.
I thank the wonderful support staff. They move from class to class, building relationships with students and adding their own skills and wisdom to complement the learning for each child. To our exceptional office administration team of Alison and Buffy we say thank you. A school can live or die by the reception you receive at the front office. Buffy and Alison complete their roles with competence, professionalism, a warm smile and a great sense of humour.
To our parents. I thank you for supporting the school, and for believing in us when we state our goal is to support and love your child and every child equally. I sincerely thank those families who work with us in partnership, continually showing their support to our school community in their words and actions and especially for acknowledging and appreciating that each of our student’s and your children’s best interests lay at the heart of each and every one of our decisions.
Wishing everyone a safe, happy and holy Christmas and we look forward to continuing to build on this year's success in 2023.

Mission
Last Tuesday we celebrated the last day of School for our Year 6 students. As we sing in our School Song,
"Just like a tiny fish who
journeys to the sea.
My time will come leave
and I will take your love with me
shining through for all to see.
The end of a journey makes us reflect on what was, and encourages us to look forward to what is next. Regardless of where we are on our own journey we have one constant that is always with us, Jesus Christ.
We pray for all of our students and families, especially those that have finished their journey at St Finbarr’s this year, that they always know the constant, Jesus Christ, and that he remains with them throughout their continued journey walking with them every step of the way.
As a School and Parish Community, we pray that Christ fills our hearts with peace and love. Help us to be kind and understanding and for our hearts to know that with faith and assurance, God is with us always. We pray in gratitude for all that we have received this year and thank God for the light of love and care that shines on us each day.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of our St Finbarr's School and Parish Community and we look forward to working with you in partnership in 2023.
Yours in Partnership,
Mrs Sonya Piccoli

Wow, what a year it has been. I think we all were hoping that 2022 was going to be cruisier and calmer after COVID but I think we can all agree that it was another BIG year.
I want to take this opportunity to thank you all (staff, students and parents) for a great year. I have really enjoyed getting to know you all and sharing my love of learning and teaching with the Finnies communty.
I am really excited for what 2023 will bring and wish you all a wonderful break and a joy filled Christmas with your family and friends.
Please see important dates for your dairy below. Students in Yrs 1-6 return on Tuesday 31st February. Kindergarten students begin on Friday 3rd Feb.
